Today, Google launched lists of the most searched topics of 2023 in the MENA region. The annual lists reveal search terms that grew significantly during the year compared to the previous year. The lists include various topics such as news, platforms, events, movies, series, sports matches, and personalities searched for by individuals in different countries.

Saudi Arabia: Individuals in the Kingdom searched for football due to the many events that occurred during the year, and the match between Al Hilal Saudi Arabia and Real Madrid topped the list of the most searched matches. As for the list of personalities, football had a share in it, with players such as Mitrovic and Karim Benzema at the top of the list. This year's trending news list was topped by the war in Palestine, the devaluation of the Pakistani rupee, and Buerger's disease. People in the Kingdom also searched for local platforms, most notably Absher, Jadarat, Etemad, and other sites.


 

UAE: In the UAE, there was huge interest in cricket matches with the match between India and Sri Lanka topping the list. Local events had a share in the search list this year, as they included the annual event GITEX, the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change COP28, and the boxing event UFC 294. People also used Google searches to follow up on what is happening in Gaza, and the natural disasters that occurred in the region from Including the earthquakes that affected Morocco, Syria, and Turkey.

Egypt: The war in Palestine topped the list of the most searched news this year, followed by the crisis of the devaluation of the Egyptian pound, in addition to the earthquake that occurred in Egypt and was felt by individuals in various regions. As for the list of the most popular personalities, the football player Imam Ashour topped the list, the actress Juri Bakr, and the journalist Bassem Youssef immediately after his interview with Piers Morgan.
